As part of the Lay It Forward program, Lumber Liquidators provided Ohio-based Adaptive Homes with flooring to use in a new home for a deserving veteran.

Adaptive Homes helps provide and secure affordable housing for disabled veterans and their families, and assist in their return to civilian life and independent living. Lumber Liquidators’ donation will provide hardwood flooring throughout the home for a retired U.S. Marine and his wife in Sunbury, Ohio. He suffered traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of injuries sustained from an improvised explosive device during his deployment in Iraq.

“Lumber Liquidators’ donation will help us provide a home for a truly deserving veteran,” said Katie Filbrun, executive director of Adaptive Homes. “The home we’re building has really brought the community together and wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of partners and people willing to give back.”

Lumber Liquidators is supporting Adaptive Homes through its philanthropic program, Lay It Forward. Lay It Forward was created to benefit communities for generations to come, a value that also motivates the lasting quality and sustainability of Lumber Liquidators’ products.

John Presley, Chief Executive Officer of Lumber Liquidators, commented: “We’re honored to help provide a foundation for this young couple as they start the next chapter of their life. Making a positive impact on people’s lives is what drives our work every day.”
